Bk1: Ch11: Pg18
Maeye: Ok. Yea. This will work.
1b.
2a.
Charlotte: Maeye, all the clothes you packed me make me look like a teen raver.
Maeye: I know! Isn't it great!
Arayanna: Oh. Sorry. I guess putting Maeye in charge of packing clothes wasn't the best idea.
2b.
Maeye: What? Why?
Arayanna: Charlotte, I've got some stuff in my tent you can have.
3a.
3b.
4a.
Arayanna: Goodnight.
Maeye: Night!
Charlotte: Good night, ladies.
4b.
5a.
Arayanna: Oh. Oh yes. Just like that.
5b.
Arayanna: Oh Maker yes! Don't stop!
6a.
Arayanna: Oh! Oh! So deep! Oh!
6b.
6c.
7a.
Maeye: Good morning, sleepyhead.
Charlotte: Good morning.
7b.
Arayanna: Coffee?
Charlotte: Thank you.
Charlotte: Uh. You guys do know that tents are not sound-proof, right?
8a.
Arayanna: You heard...
Charlotte: Yup.
Arayanna: Everything?
Charlotte: Everything.
8b.
Arayanna: Bloody hell.
Maeye: Woohoo!

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside
Oh I do like to be beside the sea
Oh I do like to walk along the prom prom prom
Where the brass band plays tiddly-pom-pom-pom
Just let me be beside the seaside
I’ll be beside myself with glee
There are lots of girls beside
That I’d like to be besides
Beside the seaside, beside the sea
Ok I love that! 😀
I had to get the sea in here somewhere. It is a very special place to me. The mid-Atlantic ocean is my second home. 😀
Wait… the MID Atlantic…? What do you do way out there? I’m very curious!
Believe he meant mid-Atlantic coast… unless he’s Aquaman
Feori could be Icelandic or live on the Azores, both are really nice places.
Ascension Island is nice too.
I live in Pennsylvania. I grew up in Maryland and lived in Ocean City for a few years.
Panel 11 reminds me of the tent scene in Austin Powers 2.
Compared to the other two, Maeye is pretty much naked – the bikini provides the very minimum of coverage.
As awkward the coffee dialogue is for Arayanna, Maeye probably won’t give more than an “Oopsie … well, you know now.”.
Next to last panel, the first “everything” is misspelled.
Do’oh!
Don’t forget to mention seeing everything 😛
Right!
Very nice scene but parking that close to the ocean, especially when the waves are that high, is what is known colloquially around here as “right fuckin’ stupid, must be a comefromaway” or variations thereof.
If the tide comes past the wheel, it wets the sand enough that the weight of the truck makes them sink in past the rims and there’s no motor made that will pull it out again without a tow because they won’t turn. The ocean is more powerful than anything on the planet, has no conscience whatsoever, and whatever it takes it keeps.
Every year people lose vehicles and occasionally themselves by driving out too far when the tide’s out and learning too late that the tide comes in faster than a man can run back to them. Once the wheels settle in, that’s it. Sometimes the vehicle gets buried out of sight in the sand, other times they just disappear when the tide goes out again dragging them to the deep ocean.
Not so sure the waves are that high, looks to me like perspective makes it look like high waves when it’s just the view of the ocean to the horizon
It’s sure not a tsunami
It’s not so much the height if the waves but how far the tide comes in, once the water goes past the wheels, the sand under them will usually displace enough to let them sink in and as soon as they do that’s it. If the sand goes past the rubber and over the rims at the bottom not many vehicles can get them to turn because they’re not pushing through the sand on top anymore, once they’re even a foot deep then they’re pushing against miles of wet sand. That’s why it’s so hard to get a vehicle unstuck in deep mud, unless the mud’s almost liquid and then there’s no traction anyway.
Understand, was just trying to explain that maybe they are not as close to the hightide mark as it seems
But then again, the sand does look like seabed without the covering sea…
Hm… Especially in the high angle of panel 1, we can see the wetting mark and the high tide mark, and they parked just clear of that… The high tide mark /is/ just the previous high tide, so the tide could come higher later, but note we don’t see the truck after panel 4. It’s possible they parked there to unload, then took the truck back up(presumably off the sand) to park overnight. Which is still /some/ touristupidity, but not nearly as much. (Term from San Diego :3)
Feori, you can fix this easy next strip by showing the truck parked up off the sand *^_^
Just invite her into your tent, Aray. She still won’t get any sleep, but at least she won’t feel left out.
Eh. She’s holding it together, but it hasn’t been long since she escaped a rape demon — she’s probably not going to be able to “take the tiger out of the cage” for a while.
I’m sure the girls could handle a few days of cuddle-therapy.
LOL!
I don’t keep track of all the various update schedules of my favorite comics, but for some, I meme what I see as the screen loads, so I can go back to my CF or TWP favorites list.
Tent Beaches.
Next page is coming tomorrow! The images are all put together, all I have to do now is drop in the text. Sorry for the long delay!
Don’t forget to proofread: the typo-gremlins like to sneak in at the last minute
You okay, Feori?
