Kraggies people are servants, nothing wrong with that, and they were probably well respected… at least until The Purge
His story would explain why Maeye and her family were wandering entertainers, possibly her uncle (and cousins) was the only family she had left
Beginning to wonder if maybe The Purge was a coup: one branch of the Purebloods, possibly ‘lesser’ ranked, decided they no longer wanted to be content with ‘scraps’ and wanted it all
In the year 810, approximately 120 years, a great battle raged between two master sorcerers. The battle lasted for an entire year, and thousands were killed in the wake of the power they unleashed upon each other. In the end, they destroyed each other along with thousands of innocent lives, countless villages, towns and buildings, and one mountain top. Afterward, the King of Vridhan, King Dichon III, outlawed magic in all forms, and the execution of all known magic users, summoners, sorcerers and fortunetellers began. Thousands were put to the sword, or given to the fire, or hung, or flung into the sea. This became known as The Purge.
Wise indeed, how would it be if he felt himself above the law ? How would he react and behave ? On the other hand, it is always better to just follow the law instead of evading it and eventually getting into trouble.
Just double-checked on Hillarc, he most certainly got what was coming to him. Aray was very lucky-and Prentil is better off with him gone. He was essentially a serial killer. Nice explanation of the reason why magics use means death, as well. The “purge” sounds like genocide, and explains why Maeve was so well hidden away that she doesn’t know her own ancestry, or power. Kraghen couldn’t have led with this, though? If they knew where he was coming from and why it might not have come to near-murder. Of course, he isn’t good with people… Someone needs to hit him over the head with something heavy regardless. Whatever his reasons, rape, attempted or otherwise, is NOT acceptable.
I suspect Maeve is rare even among her own, however, given the power she has been shown wielding. Could Aray be part of that? A deep love and connection between the two driving Maeve to heights and feats she might never have known otherwise? She DID essentially drag Aray back from the very edge of death by sheer force of will and her power not too long ago.
Finally, for now, I still suspect the events which nearly destroyed Maeve and Kraghen’s families utterly are tied to what happened to leave Aray stuck in a Cursed sleep for 100 years. For a spell to last a 100 years and be broken by someone of direct descent of the Vridhan bloodline coming on Aray out of the blue, who didn’t know her own power? Lets see. Love Aray’s understanding face, by the way.
When I look at Krag I often feel that heโs afraid that his bloodline quite soon gets broken because he doesnโt have an offspring. He is also afraid of rejection from Maeye, whether Arayโs alive or not.
I think heโs kinda desperate to continue his bloodline and wants to do everything necessary to be able to do so. Including getting rid of people who gets in his way. Still, guilt makes it more difficult for him.
Thank you. I am glad you liked it. I imagine her peaking over her shoulder to see Maeye approaching, similarly garbed. ๐
Don’t worry – I haven’t forgotten about your request for an Arayanna transition piece. This pose got stuck in my head and I needed to get it out. Also wanted to work with the awesome new waterfalls I purchased.
You’re right but I didn’t wanted to get deep in detail, otherwise my autism would take over and then I would get (way!) too deep in detail. If that happens I’m afraid I would hurt the story, and maybe Feori.

Aray’s look of understanding is beautifully done.
If nothing else, she is practical
Indeed. She’s got some great “practical” lines in the next page.
Thank you!
Okay, why is that statue facing the other way with their butt in the air? o_O
Maybe the model was a bit shy or afraid to show her face.
Or they just forgot to turn the statue around.
LOL.
There are many statues in the hall in many different poses.
What kind of statues would you expect for the god and goddess of love, lust, and intimacy?
Well… I guess “missionary” position statues would make sense… ;D

Guessing Kingie either wasn’t of the Pureblood, was never told he had magic, or more usual “We are the Exception” crap
Not everyone who is of the blood has magical apptitude. But yea, if he did have powers, he was smart enough to exclude himself from the law.

‘Repayed’ in panel ‘betrayal’ should be ‘repaid’
For a minute there, I thought I might have actually gone typo free. Ugh.
Still doesn’t distract from the story
Thank you.
Have we come across this “Hillarc” yet in the story, who captured Krag’s sister?
Yes, he’s the arsehole who also captured, and was torturing, Aray
The same arc where we met Sha’ and Kraggie himself
Yup! Chapter 4.

Krag had no intent on raping Maeye

That is spot on. And remember, Endora and Dalleon are essentially his parents, so if his bloodline dies, he kills them, too.
Desperate? Sure. Butt he’s not that desperate, he still has some morals and good up-bringing
Some good theories in here. ๐ We will learn more about the Purge and about how Arayanna got trapped in endless sleep in chapters to come. ๐
Beginning to wonder if some of Aray’s ancestors came to this world, and settled this island…
Could the sorcerers’ war have spread from Prentil to Aray’s world, or vice-versa?
Mmm, lovely new invotive, Aray is waiting for Maeye?
Thank you. I am glad you liked it. I imagine her peaking over her shoulder to see Maeye approaching, similarly garbed. ๐

No worries, sometimes an idea pops up that simply must be rendered ๐
Yes! This is definitely true.

My comment was a reaction to Guesticus’ “Desperate? Sure. Butt…” but the forum placed it wrong.
