Arayanna: Good morning.
Inn Keeper: Good morning to you, Champion Arayanna.
Arayanna: Do you know where I can find a good bakery?
3b.
Inn Keeper: My cousin has a wonderful bakery two blocks down the street and to the right. Best pastries in all of Foyyt.
Arayanna: Thank you!
4a.
Baker: Champion Arayanna! So good of you to visit my humble bakery.
Arayanna: You recognize me?
Baker: Yes, of course. You've become quite famous in these parts. The first lady Champion in I don't know how long.
Baker: How can I help you?
4b.
Arayanna: I would like two of those...
Arayanna: And two of those...
Arayanna: And two of those berry pastries.
4c.
Baker: Thank you! Please come again!
Arayanna: I will. Have a wonderful day!

Arayanna: Wha...

Emilya: Quickly now. Put her in the cart.

Seydah: Yea. I don't think so.
Did… that cart talk in panel ten? o_O
I presume it was meant to be in panel eleven because Aray’s yes doesn’t have speech bubble.
Yea…that looks like it is what happened. How did it get flipped? I swear my brain is got its own thing going on and I am not a part of it.
Fixed. 😀
LOL. WTF?
Thought it might have been the accomplice saying ‘yes’ 🙂
Hmm, wondering if the innkeeper set her up, or if this was just a random attack taking advantage of her being alone and distracted
The innkeeper was not in on it, but it was not random. 🙂
Where… where in the world did Seydah come from? The angle of the motion blur doesn’t seem to indicate that she was in the trees or that she jumped off the roof of a building, so where…?
Unless she maybe used the Ancient Art of Double Tap Forward, Jump And Kick Buttons Simultaneously?
The angle suggests a jump kick jumping off the ground, yes, but the buildings aren’t far. I’m guessing she was protectively tailing Aray, and thus saw this while peeking around a building or the like.
Can’t have been from the alley, that’s where the crack-head was hiding (you can see them in panel ten)
She jumped down from a roof onto a low awning and then across from there. Yea…that’s my story and I’m sticking with it.
Doesn’t matter how unlikely the story, never change it and they can’t prove you’re lying 😉
Okay, I don’t nitpick when this isn’t done, but I will complement your attention to detail for doing this. I can see in the next to last panel her foot is turned and hitting with the edge of the foot which is actually correct striking technique, nicely done.
Actually, it’s the sole of her boot that is connecting (unless that was what you meant)
It looks to me like her foot was turned, but I guess that could be motion blur
I think the issue is just that the panel is rendered a moment after the kick connects. It looks good 🙂
Note how the target’s head is tilted. Presumably head was in line with spine before the kick. If you just mentally un-tilt the target’s head, then that’s enough for the blade of Seydah’s foot to be what connected.
Also, most likely her foot has also recoiled from the impact, and that recoil will be bending towards neutral position(one of several reasons why that’s the right way to kick). With her foot further from neutral position, the blade of her foot is definitely what connected.
It should be the edge of the foot. I try to be as true to my training as possible in the fight scenes. 🙂
Nice work with the reflections in the windows, you rarely see what should be very common, especially with lots of shiny things in most comics of this type.
Thank you!
Heya friends. All the renders are complete for the next page so now I just have to throw it all together. Have to work late tomorrow so page will be up Tuesday night!!! 😀
Woohoo!
Sorry! I was off by a day. Had to redo one of the renders. Still not 100% happy with the result, but gotta move on. 😀
