OK and they are where? I get wolfie came along for the ride because the knife is connected to the Elf, and our Heroine was holding hands with said elf when the transport spell kicked in. But how in the name of all the odds and sods in the multiverses did the transport spell origionale in, not on our heroine. I went back and looked no amulet to cause the spell it originated inside her. Who or rater WHAT in the seven domains of Hel is she?
Well, I can see that this page was confusing. 🙂 It was not a transport spell, but a healing spell. I was reading your comments and thinking “what the hell is he going on about?”, and then I went back and looked at the page with your comments in mind and I can totally see it. The transition from darkness to sunrise was intended to imply the passing of time, but it does end up reading like they are in a different place. I had planned to include some panels of the wounds closing up, but I got hung up on the Vue thing and ran out of time. Maybe I will go back and add some. Anyway, thanks for the comments as always and i will make sure the next page clears things up.
I totally got that it was a healing spell or ability – the peaks over the wounds as the energy spread made it pretty obvious.
But the ground texture does look very different in daylight (my first thought as well, was, “hey, did they move?”)
But the new light, cliff, and wolf, helped me figure it out quickly enough.
If something like this ever happens again, you could consider doing the establishing shot with the cliff in the background, showing the cave they came out of high above. Just an idea.
However, about that cliff…
Unless gravity works a bit differently here, you need to make that cliff at least three times higher. I was having a hard time believing that Aray had time to catch up, let alone do all the things she did, during the fall.
Unless she has an ability to slow time or something…
I did like her skydiver position, though.
Or even easier, put a large distinctive rock near them. It would be visible by the heal-light, and of course also by the daylight, making it patently clear they haven’t moved.
Or, more work, but more fun, ave some bushes around – they would have fallen on one, crushing it, which would be pretty cool. I think the real confusion is just that a simple texture by itself is not distinctive enough to give good location feedback.
Not that I’m complaining – I’m really liking both the story and art. The comment just got me started thinking and all this stuff poured out…
Sorry about that, thanx for clearing it up. Now again I ask What is out little Red Haired Vixen? I really won’t buy that she’s Charlie Browns “Little Red Headed Girl” he was always mooning about.
I wouldn’t worry too much about that Feori. I think Dragon just jumped to the wrong conclusion. I think you adequately show the spell washing over them, healing their wounds, mending and straightening Aray’s leg. Sun peeking over the hills showing them at the bottom of a cliff. Transport spell never crossed my mind. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Glad you left the blood, never made sense to me when healing spells cleaned up the blood as well (makes sense when Wolvie does it, as he is regenerating damage, and that includes absorbing the spilled blood)
Oh yeah, forgot to mention: it’s just as well whatever new power Mae has works by touch, or either Aray wouldn’t have been healed, or the wolfie would have been as well
Hey folks. Added a new Prentil menu item today. This is where we will keep all the tidbits of information that make up the the Isle of Prentil, it’s people, and it’s history.
If you would like to know where we are right now, check out the map. Go due south from the city of Foyyt and you will see a small forest on the southern side of the mountain range. That’s where we are. 🙂
Hmm healing ability than can transfer to others when needed where have I seen it…..AHHA Thats korean manhwa Ability. Perhaps read for ideas?
Oh And I enjoyed the read.
Don’t think they were actually dead, but they were daaaaaaamned close. So far, there is nothing in my home grown magic system that will bring anyone back from the dead. Well, nothing that could bring them back in a good way. 🙂
Have a couple problems with the page (just minor ones): don’t see why Aray’s leg got straightened (didn’t see anything wrong with the angle it was in); and the claw marks on Mae’s stomach- the fact there is a gap in the middle looks wrong to me, the belt should have either stopped it, been cut (like the hot-pants) or at least pushed down
It got straightened because the healing spell returned the broken bone to it’s proper position. Good thing too. If it had healed it like it was, she would be kicking herself in the ass through this whole series. lol. also, Mae’s belt is loose around her waist. It either rested on her hip, or was pushed up higher towards her chest during the attack.
I just hope she doesn’t try to wake our heroine with a kiss of welcome, thanks and I wanna jump your sexy bod in the bushes right damn now. That episode had to leave both them with dragon mouth from hell.
Pretty sure Aray would at least wait until she was sure Mae feels the same way, and after a nice relaxing soak in a warm tub followed by a luxurious massage and a well-cooked meal

It’s not just the transition from night to day, but the ground is different (even went back to the last page to confirm it)

She is a mystery. One we will solve eventually, I promise.

Hoping Aray is not a combustible vamp (or even a ‘sparkley’ abomination)
Nope, no vamps…sparkly or otherwise.

They are somewhere near the river along the road to/from Harbor City?

That manhwa thing sounds interesting. I will have to check it out.
Glad you are enjoying the story and welcome to the community. 🙂
OK. so they aren’t dead at the end of the fall. Cool.
Whats’s the white/blue swizzlily thing?
We’ll learn more about that later. 🙂
Actually, they were dead: Aray died on impact, Mae shortly afterwards (if not dead dead, the next best thing to it)
Don’t think they were actually dead, but they were daaaaaaamned close. So far, there is nothing in my home grown magic system that will bring anyone back from the dead. Well, nothing that could bring them back in a good way. 🙂
That’s why said ‘next best thing to it’
Aray was probably at -5, Mae was at 1 before slipping under
. . . and why isn’t it prefect. . leaving some marks/scars but the major injuries healed?
Probably because it had to be shared between two corpses
It pretty much was perfect, just left some blood behind, and maybe some old scars.

The leg doesn’t look broken, or even positioned awkwardly
If you look closely, you will see claw marks above and below the belt, but not under it
I just hope she doesn’t try to wake our heroine with a kiss of welcome, thanks and I wanna jump your sexy bod in the bushes right damn now. That episode had to leave both them with dragon mouth from hell.

Sorry! Looks like the anti-spam went a little wonky!
