Bk1: Ch3: Pg2
Special thanks to FantasyStock and KYGhost for providing the beautiful photos I used for this page.
Gus: How much further, Arayanna?
Arayanna: Another day's travel. We should stop and rest soon.
Ryder: This looks like as good a spot as any to camp.
3b.
Maeye: Ugh. My arse is killing me.
Arayanna: Come, Sore-bottom, let's go and gather some firewood.
4a.
Ryder: That is a fine spear. I could teach you a thing or two about using it, lass.
Maeye: Haha!!
Maeye: I can hold my own.
Ryder: O really? Then attack me. of you dare...
Arayanna: So tell me, Gus, why did your Count Reed have to resort to hiring blades anyway? Is there npo Vridhan Knight in this land?
Gus: No, we have not had the protection of a good knight for some time now.
4b.
Maeye: RAAA!!!
Gus: Good Sir Godrin the Gelder was our last knight. Or Godrin Four-Sacks as some called him.
Arayanna: And what happened to this Sir Godrin?
5a.
Maeye: Unfh!
Gus: Sir Godrin got his name by, well, let's just say he was fond of tracking down rapers and expediting justice upon them.
Arayanna: I see...
5b.
Ryder: Come on. Up up you go.
Gus: Well, apparently the good Sir Godrin was not above stealing a woman himself. And one fine spring morning, he nade off with the count's oldest daughter.
Gus: Knights have not felt welcome along our little stretch of road since.
Arayanna: Ah. And now the count truly needs the aid of a knight and there are none to be found, so he must pay for aid with his own coin.
6a.
Ryder: That was lesson number one... balance. Would you like to learn more?
Maeye: Yes. Yes I would.
Ryder: Good, lass.
Arayanna: Ironic...
Gus: Trust me, the irony of the situation is not lost on the good Count. But, he does not seem to be lacking for coin, so he pays and we fight.
7a.
Ryder: Good... keep your back straight Knees bent. Stay light on your feet.
Arayanna: How long have you two been riding together?
Gus: Oh, for a few years now. Ryder may be a bit crazy, especially when he is around women, but he has saved my lofe more than once. There's no one I'd rather have at my back in a fight.
Arayanna: That is good to know.
Gus: And how about you, Arayanna the Mysterious. How are you in a fight?
7b.
Arayanna: Oh... I think I'll be fine.
8.
Ryder: Good, Maeye. Balance. Patience. Focus. Keep at it.
Arayanna: Supper is almost ready/
Arayanna: And do not wear yourselves out. We have a fortress to storm tomorrow.
OMG done. This comic is gonna kill me. Nite.
G’Night, boys!
Have fun storming the castle!
That is exactly what I was thinking when I wrote that. 😀
Love the first panel (can’t quite tell if the horse is shod or not)
A minor typo in Gus’ 2nd last bubble: “Ryder may be a bit crazy” isntead of ‘made’
Meant the shot of the horse jumping over the ‘camera’ (obviously the background is a photo, but that is acceptable 😀 )
Yea. I am definitely digging the stock photos. It’s way easier than trying to create a 3D scene like that in DAZ. The scale is just too bulky to work with. I need to get better with Vue, but for right now I am just focusing on production. Maybe this winter…
Thanks for the head’s up on the typo. I’ll get that fixed tomorrow.
First lesson regarding the use of a spear: it’s not a slashing weapon, it’s primarily a ‘thrusting’ one
The shaft can be used to block or deliver non-lethal blows, and remember: it has reach, use it, keep them at a distance, if they get close it’s not going to do you much good
Yup. So running up on Ryder swinging the spear over your head like a baseball bat gets you knocked on your ass. 😀
Shows a lot for Maeye that she agreed to lessons straight away without sulking or something equally stupid slash childish slash petty
Any chance of getting Red Aray as an invotive or something? Minus the words?
Already in the works. I need to redo the blood on the troll heads and the blade. It looks ok smaller, but I am not happy with it blown up. But that pic will definitely be posted in high rez soon. The scene was not even in the original script – it just kinda happened.
Yeah, Aray tends to do that 😀
Yes she does! 🙂
Wow! Aray is strong! I could probably straightarm one of those heads, and I might manage two, with adrenalin, but three? That is probably up of 60 pounds! Oof!
Aray is stronger than the average human.
I love that first panel, it is beautiful!
Thank you!
Mmm, loving the Autumn Ride, so sweet and tender (and naked 😉 )
Thank you! Those are exactly the qualities I was going for. 😀
Thank you. I just noticed the 300K myself. We should hit that in a couple of days! 😀
299’247 at the time of this post 🙂
Woohoo!! 😀
That is a stunning first panel.
Thank you very much.
