Bk1: Ch7: Pg2
So here we go! New Genesis 3 models for Arayanna, Maeye and Fiet, and our first page featuring the Nvidia Iray engine! I sure hope you like it!
Arayanna: Thank you for letting us meet here, Nihklas.
Nihklas: Of course. My pleasure.

Maeye: Our guests are arriving.
Arayanna: Great!
Nihklas: I think we are all set here. I will fetch some fresh ale.
2a.
Arayanna: Seraphi!
Arayanna: I wasn't expecting you to come.
Seraphi: Sir Syril told me about this meeting. I wanted to be here to support you.
2b.
Arayanna: Did you get everything settled with your cousin?
Seraphi: Yes. We were able to recover his body and properly prepare his ashes. Thank you for all of your help.
Arayanna: Thank you for saving me.
3a.
Arayanna: Thank you, everyone, for coming. We have noticed some unusual and disturbing behavior over the last few months.
Arayanna: And we wanted to discuss this with you all.
3b.
Arayanna: Around three months ago, Maeye and I encountered a demon wielding madman named Kerrik Tahr here on the map. His men stated that he was an intelligent and ambitious archeologist who went mad over the course of a few weeks.
Arayanna: A month later, we met another madman here. A regional governor named Hilarch, with no previous signs of mental instability, went completely insane over the course of two years. He kidnapped, raped, and murdered dozens of women.

Arayanna: Then, just a few weeks later we were attacked here by a pack of mountain Shaleclaws, far to the south of their normal hunting grounds.
Arayanna: And here, Korrinisa's people were attacked by an ancient beast that had laid dormant for decades.
4b.
Arayanna: One month ago, Seraphi's ranch was attacked by a swarm of giant wasps, that, as I understand it, are only found in the mountain regions.
Arayanna: And then finally, just two weeks ago, we were attacked here by Frost Ogres, normally peaceful and reclusive giants from the mountain peaks.
5a.
Arayanna: There is a pattern here. All of this seems to indicate that something is wrong. Something...or someone...is driving both beasts and men out of their homes and out of their minds.
Arayanna: And whatever it is, I think it is here.
5b.
Arayanna: Maeye and I have decided that, for the good of all, we are going to go and investigate this mountain range.
Arayanna: We would welcome any assistance.
Arayanna: Will any of you travel with us?
6a.
Sir Syril: Aye, My Lady. It will be an honor to fight by your side once again.
Fiet: I'm In!
Kraghen: Aye.
6b.
Nihklas: Arayanna, I am no warrior, but neither have I ever shied away from a fight. I would travel with you, but someone needs to care for the children and Korrinisa and the Inn.
7a.
Seraphi: I will take care of them, Nihklas.
Nihklas: Are you sure?
Seraphi: Absolutely. I would be honored to feel that I have contributed to such an important undertaking. I want to help.
Nihklas: Thank you. In that case, I am with you, Arayanna.
7b.
Arayanna: My thanks to you all.
Arayanna: Now, let us feast and enjoy friendship this night. We have much to prepare on the morrow. I would like to be underway as soon as possible.

Maeye: Hey, big guy.
Kraghen: Maeye, about what happened in the cave...I...
Maeye: Epsca's soul, are you still hung up on that? I would kiss me too if I was sleeping with me all naked. Don't worry about it.
Kraghen: Alright, then.
A new adventure! And they’ve already put together an adventuring party. I’m particularly glad that the mellowed-out Syril is joining them, he’s a great character.
And the new character models look great, especially Maeye’s face in the last couple of panels. You can really see the improvement.
Thank you. I am very fond of Syril, too. Originally, he was just going to be a jerk who was super strict about following the laws, but then it occurred to me that just because there is a new view about an older policy or law, it doesn’t automatically invalidate the believes of those people who have held to those laws for years and years. So, Syril got to be a good guy. 😀

Wow, that is a big technical shift. Did you get new hardware as well?
Not yet. I am saving my Patreon money for a new video card. I have exactly $0.00 saved so far. 🙂 It will take about 6 months to get the money I need for a juicy new Nvidia 1070ti.
She definitely knows something is up.

There is something seriously ‘off’ regarding the last panel, and personally? Don’t like it, not one bit!
Hmm. Not sure what it is that you do not like. Is it the lighting, the poses, expressions, the scene itself?
Overall, just a sense of foreboding, possibly also to do with the lighting on Maeye’s face… and her expression in general, had to zoom in to see if her eyes were all red and evil
Ooo, didn’t mean there was something wrong with the art, visually looks great, just the shift from happy-Maeye in the previous panel to the serious-Maeye
That was pretty much exactly what I was going for. She was trying to make Krag feel like everything was ok, but deep down inside, she knows something is up.
Oh, that’s good then, she’s not going to be such an easy catch (look how long it took before Aray caught her 😛 )
Is Fiet pretending to be hyu-mon around the others? Because of coure she would be joining in
It’s hard to tell because of the lilies she is wearing in her hair, but she has her own ears out. She has decided she does not have to hide in this particular crowd.
Just seemed odd (to me) that she had to state she was in
I actually debated Fiet’s form for a while and finally decided that I wanted to show this group as the trusted inner circle, so Fiet is free to be herself with these peeps.
Aray considers Fiet an equal, not pet-like familiar.
Some summoners have a master/slave relationship with their summons, but they have to force their will on their summons.
Arayanna has equal partnership and friendship with Fiet, and Fiet helps Aray because she wants to. Aray wouldn’t just assume that Fiet would be going.
Maeye is young, and is new to summoning. I’m sure she wants to follow Aray’s example, but she’s not quite their yet. With Sha’ag, Maeye is kinda like the bossy best friend, who cares about you, but still steamrolls ahead with her own plans, expecting you to follow. With time and guidance, I’m sure Maeye will mature, and will have a healthier relationship with Sha’ag.

So… are they G3 or G2 models?… i’m confused… when you first introduced them, they were G2, now they are G3… G3 would make much more sense, imho…
but regardless, abnormally beautiful artwork… LOOVE it… and it’s painful to acknowledge the amount of work invested in creation of this page… believe me, i know…
Ack! My mistake! They are actually G2 models. I will be switching them up to G8 just as soon as I get all of my custom morphs and stuff converted. That will probably be a while. I wish Daz would slow down. Everytime I get settled and have everything I need they come out with another set of new models. It’s a bit frustrating.
Hi, I really like your comic. I read it from the beginning. Please, you can make one day, tell something about your art pipeline, I try make me first comic in daz3d, I do not find anything. Something about lights, morphs for create characters, etc….thanks!

Re-reading this page, just noticed how down Sera is in panel 11 when everyone is joining the quest and she feels she can’t contribute, and then panel 12 gives her something she can do: look after the inn and the younglings 😀
