That’s one problem with being a character in a story where one of your allies has magical healing abilities: you’re narratively bound to be gruesomely injured to the brink of death followed by a quick recovery on a regular basis. Unless of course you have some prejudice against being magically healed, but surely nobody is that dumb, right?
My wife and I were just talking about that. The drama battle and fear of losing our heroes will be lost if Maeye can everyone back from everything. I am going to have to come up with some new ways to develop drama.
“Maybe she should consider wearing some armor that actually covers her vital organs.”
“I am going to have to come up with some new ways to develop drama.”
can work together nicely ;J Just off the top of my head, maybe the party should be proactive(or just preemptive) and put together a “second skin” magical armor, perhaps of the “invisible itself but flashes when hit” variety. Then a hit like this, instead of inflicting a nasty wound on Aray and requiring Maeye to do revealing magic soon after, will “just” provide a revealing flash of magic on the spot :3
(I’m biased, though. I have zero fondness for InterplayOfSexAndViolence.)
Interesting idea on the magic armor. I’ll have to see what I can do with that. I certainly don’t want to put more clothes on the girls. That seems…well…counterproductive. π
β¦I freely admit to being a dirty woman, but that prompts me to imagine how emergency armoring-up would go, with the magic armor attached to rings. The rings would be the only “clothing” necessary to go from in flagrante to in battle :3
(One advantage rings have over amulets is they can lead to a “Here’s a ring of deflection I made for you. Why are you looking at me like that?” scene. Could be even better if Prentil doesn’t have an engagement ring tradition, but Aray remembers such a tradition from Earth.)
What about an armor that gets ripped, but completely protects its wearer until it is destroyed, like the supersuit in “empowered”?
Although right now even a chain mail bikini would provide more protection than the things Arayanna wears – the last attack not only ripped up her belly, but cut her belt and half of her top without visible impediment.
We definitely need to work on getting Aray some decent armor. She was wearing chainmail before, but kind of rushed into this battle in her work clothes.
Damn lizard people, they have learned of the infinite power of teamwork. All is lost.
LOL! They do seem to be quite effective when they work together. Maybe our heroes could learn a thing or two from them.
Poor Arayanna. Maeye may need to install a zipper on her stomach if she keeps getting sliced there.
Seriously! Maybe she should consider wearing some armor that actually covers her vital organs. π
Lizard magic! Oh no!
Still suspect that wounded Arayanna + Maeye + staff = lizard fricassee.
LOL!
Yeah, was just thinking that: BBQ Lizard Tongue (and the rest turned into loincloths for diarrhetic trolls)

Seems to me that these:

In a world that has outlawed magic, having permanent magical armour would not be a good idea
Yea – it would have to be undetectable to be practical in this day and age (and place).
Oh it’s bad, undeniably. But the relevant question isβ¦ is it worse?

Magical armor is definitely something we can continue to look into and discuss.
Did the Lizard Wizard just bring a dead lizardman back to life?? Uh-oh…
That is definitely what it looks like.
One up, one right back down.
I know right! If it wasn’t Arayanna going down this time, then I think a snarky Maeye facepalm would have been in order.
well… that is but one nasty lizard… straight into… emm… pants…
for that alone it must die a terrible death… again…
The only ones allowed into Aray’s pants, are Maeye and Fiet!
Right!!
Can’t say I blame him. Aray would totally kill me in a fight cause I would just stand there staring at her.
same here… no doubt… π
π
This comic deserves to stay in the top 10. Keep voting every day :D!!!
Now if we can just get “The Androssian Prophecy” up as well…
What’s Exiern and Dark Reflections then? Chopped liver???
Also, does Scott know you’re seeing other webcomics behind his back?
Ha!
*I* got my permission slip signed first before coming over if you ever need to see it.
Eh…Gotta give AP a big ole….eh.
Actually, if it wasn’t for AP, wouldn’t personally be here
Thank you, my friend! π
