That is pretty much Maeye’s theory on it all. He does not appear to be messing with them, so what could it hurt to see if he can come through on his promises.
And Maeye never misses a chance to get nekked. 😀
I wonder what kind of effect it has on Maeye when Araya’s sister does get back. On the other hand, will Maeye also get to see her family again? Who knows…
If he is lying, what good will that do for him? I can’t see any advantage or gain in lying. Except if he actually plans to steal Maeye’s and Araya’s power to heal him or make him stronger.
It will be interesting to see if they can actually rescue Dunverys, and if they do, then what? Do they take her to Prentil? Do they try to get her home? Who knows… Well, I guess I do, but ya know what I mean. 🙂
The last Arayanna knew of Dunverys, she (Dunverys) was being captured by nasty demon monster thingies while Arayanna escaped. She is carrying a lot of guilt for that one.
Went looking to find out where I’d encountered “Dunverys” before. Didn’t succeed. Did find out that it means “murder” in Manx Gaelic. Don’t think I was the first to look, because Google also coughed up “What does Ariana mean?” (“Most Holy” or “silver” or “Persia.”) Mr. Storyteller, how did you pick the name?
Almost all of the character names come from old D&D/GURPS games. Dunverys does mean murder in Gaelic. She was originally a thief/assassin type character, but I really liked the name, so she stayed with me for a long while until she settled in as Arayanna’s sister. Maeye is something I made up. Originally it was used as Maeye’s great great great granddaughter, Shal’Kora Maeye. Arayanna was a typo. Kraghen was something my buddy made up.
That’s Maeye!
Yup, she may act ditzy, butt she’s no dummy 😀
She knows a good thing when she sees one – like a free massage!
The real question is: how worse off will they be if the old coot is lying?
While they ponder on that question, will join Maeye’s version of lying (as in ‘lying down, naked’ 😉 )

Have we seen Araya’s sister in the comic? I don’t remember her
Yeah, we saw her when Aray mentioned how she ended up on Earth prior to Prentil
Dunverys’ first appearance was Chapter 2, Page 23. She’s made a few cameos beyond that as well in Chapters 5 and 6.

Arayanna was a typo?
Hm. That tracks. 😛
Well, she’s better than that Grande ‘singer’
