Friends, I am having major system issues. I cannot get any complex renders to complete. Renders that worked just fine for the last page are now causing my computer to crash. Sunday is looking unlikely for the next page. I am trying my best but I cannot seem to figure this one out. If you hear a loud, rhythmic banging sound that is me smashing my head against my desk.
Ouch … good luck.
Did you have recent updates, e.g. the OS your computer uses, drivers, rendering software?
Also do a checkdisk, maybe there’s a fault on the HD.
There was a few windows updates that came down the pipe this week. Don’t think it was anything serious, but you never know. Though it does sound like either you are having a space issue, or there’s something up with your video card. Is your physical hard drive space running in the red? Also, any changes to the RAM recently?
Hope it’s not too major, Major (sorry, flashing back to that scene from “Catch-22” where Sergeant Major Major gets promoted to Major Major Major because the base commander got confused over his rank š )
Will continue checking in (and voting)
LOL. Awesome scene. š
Speaking of voting: you did a great render of Breen and Teal (you even made sure Teal’s slime bewbs fell the correct way for being upside down š )
So, that’s what would have happened if the Devourer had won? š
Thank you! Bree will get them out of there! Somehow…
Well, Teal is a slime girl, so she should be okay, and Breen is already naked, so what more can happen to her? š
Microslut is pushing an update for win 10 it says is urgent.
Heh, that’s why cancelled Win10 minutes after trialling it š
Microslut! LOL.
Thank you for all the well wishes, heads up, and advice. I am mostly functional now. The system still crashes on the really intense scenes, and definitely does not like wolfie’s fur. I have had to piecemeal some of the scenes and stick them back together, but I am getting by. Right now, ETA on the next page is tomorrow night.
I still don’t now exactly what is wrong. It seems like the system is having trouble allocating GPU and/or graphic card memory. I have updated GC driver and all known firmware and Microsoft drivers as well. It is better, but still not as good as it was. Oh well, might mean I have to adjust my workflow, but we will get back on schedule!
Thanks everyone for your patience!!
Work like you have produced over the years has earnt the patience (at least from me) š
Thank you, sir!
Here’s an update…
The last render is in the cooker right now. One of the issues I am now having is I can longer run Photoshop while I am rendering, so I need to complete all the renders then start the post work. So, my hope is to have the page completed tomorrow night. Finally. š
I have seen some improvement with the system after the latest round of driver updates, but I have not had any time for experimentation. Hopefully I can get us back on a regular schedule soon.
Thanks again for hanging in there!
Hmm … sounds like a heat issue. I had several Win10 crashes this week because of CPU overheating, caused by dust-covered CPU watercooling’s radiator.
I vacuumed it and voila – 20 degrees cooler.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will throw a temp monitor on and see what it says, but this system is vaac sealed and liquid cooled so if I am having temp issues already I am going to be pretty upset.
Glad to hear your nightmare is nearly over. Based on our experience with your past work, Iām sure it will prove to have been worth the pain.
Thank you!!
