Bk1: Ch10: Pg17
Maeye: Ready to get to work?
Arayanna: Ready.
1b.
Arayanna: Ziri, Maeye and I are looking for something and we were hoping you could help us.
Ziri: I will certainly try. What are you looking for?
2a.
Arayanna: An object that looks like a broken pillar. It is black marble with strange red markings...
Ziri: Ah yes. I know of this. You speak of t he Croa'Tellis.
2b.
Maeye: The croa-whattis?
Ziri: The Croa'Tellis. If it is this that you seek, then your appetites must be truly great.
3a.
Maeye: Mmmm. I could eat.
Ziri: Not those appetites, my fiery friend.
Maeye: Oooh.
3b.
Arayanna: Can you take us to it?
Ziri: I can indeed. Please follow me.
4a.
Kinnic: What are you doing?
Seydah: We rubbed off some of my makeup. My tattoos are showing.
Kinnic: Why are you covering them?
Seydah: I do not want anyone to know what I am.
4b.
Kinnic: Why not?
Seydah: There are people in this city who want me dead.
Kinnic: You are safe as long as you are within this tower.
Seydah: Are you certain?
Kinnic: Absolutely.
5a.
Kinnic: Come with me.
Seydah: But my friends...
5b.
Arayanna: Find us when you are done.
Seydah: Are you sure?
Arayanna: Yes. I am certain. You go and enjoy yourself.
6a.
6b.
7a.
Seydah: This is amazing. It's warm!
Seydah: How is this possible?
7b.
Kinnic: There is a pool on the roof of the tower that collects rainwater and the water is warmed with heated rocks. Then
the water travels through hollowed clevel vines set in the walls and it comes out here. Master-craftsman from Slogat installed the entire
system.
7c.
Seydah: It's just like a warm summer rain.
7d.
This is technologival convergent evolution!
This is a shower clearly meant to be enjoyed by more than two people, who may or may not simply be spectators.
Here’s a man who truly enjoys his job.
That’s… a large water volume that needs to be kept heated, out in the open where heat tends to dissipate…
Yes, if I had designed it I would have separated the collecting and heating functions. Have the collector drain the water into an enclosed space to be heated, so the heat wouldn’t dissipate so quickly. Ideally, it would go into a large boiler, where it could then be heated more directly by a variety of possible fuels, but I don’t know if this world’s technology is quite up to that.
You can use wood and coal there, I suppose, unless they don’t mine yet but that’s unlikely so. Otherwise use gas.
New page is well under way. I may have discovered something that could help greatly with rendering times. Doing some testing. Fingers crossed!
I am impressed by the complexity of that last sequence!
Thank you. I needed a smile this evening. 😀
The, ahh, high rez version, you say?
Indeed.
