Ryder: So, two monks and a donkey walk into an inn.
1a: Are you doing well?
Maeye: Sure. Why?
Arayanna: You do not seem to be reacting the way I expected. Are you not worried about your cousins?
Maeye: Oh, I am plenty worried, but I guess worry cannot easily overcome a lifetime of training.
Arayanna: I do not think I understand.
Maeye: I am a Festiv, and this is what Festivs do... We make people feel better when they are worried or sad. We dance and sing and lift the spirits of all those around us. I guess I am just making myself feel better.
Arayanna: Maeye, you are an amazing woman.

Maeye: How are you feeling? Any memories returning?
Arayanna: Nothing from whatever events occurred to me to put me in the state that you found me, but everything else is clear.
Maeye: Can I ask you something?
Arayanna: Yes, of course.
Maeye: You are not from here, are you? I mean... you are not from Prentil?
Arayanna: No, Maeye, I am not from your world.
Maeye: So where are you from? How did you get here?
2b.
Arayanna: That is a very long story...
Maeye: We seem to have plenty of time.
Arayanna: We were at war.

Arayanna: My home is called Elvia, on the planet, Tholla. Elvia was a beautiful land, and we were primarily a peaceful people until the invaders came. We did not know where they came from or how they chose our world, but they came and they came and they came. An endless wave of monstrous creatures intent on destroying and enslaving...
Arayanna: ... and worse.

4a.
Arayanna: Finally, after years of battle, great warriors like my sister, Dunverys, were leading us to victory. The beasts were being pushed back, our ravaged lands delivered, and it was then that we finally discovered from whence the creatures had come.
4b.
Arayanna: They traveled through magical portals created by hideous creatures called Rigorrots. Dunverys led us to one of these portals where we captured the Rigorrot before it could escape and learned their secrets.
4c.
Arayanna: And standing before the portal, we could see through it to the world where the demons had fled. It was not their home that they had retreated to, but another world like ours full of unsuspecting, unprepared people. Dunverys wanted us to pursue. I was terrified, but Dunverys was always so strong, so fierce. She knew our world, our Tholla, our Elvia would never be safe until these creatures were stopped once nad for all. So... we went through the portal.

5.
Arayanna: And that is how my sister and I found ourselves fighting alongside humans on a planet called Earth.
