Oh come on Maeye, you’re clearly not trying your hardest. Full-skin-contact, remember.
The timing of this flashback (right after Aray gets stabbed in the womanly-parts) does seem to have some implications about her mental state, if she does come back. If not for the location of that stab, I would have said that this would have some implications for their relationship. And another reason for Kraghen to hang around.
This page tugged at my heart strings in many ways. My first thought as I came to end was simply,” NOOOOO!”
Aray has been fighting physical and mental battles for quite a while now. I hope she is strong enough in mind, body and spirit to be able survive this.
When people from Arayanna’s world take on certain occupations, they can also take on some physical changes that are applied magically. People who are craftsmen often have their fingers lengthened and strengthened, people who are in labor industries often have their muscle capacity increased, etc. Many women who become career soldiers choose to have their ability to reproduce removed to avoid the regular complications of being fertile. The procedures can usually be reversed, but those kinds of voluntary magics were increasingly more difficult to get done as all resources were focused on the war effort.

I think she is a little emotionally distracted.
And you are right on about the flashback. 🙂
Ooo I wonder what line is Maeye is about to cross?
😀 We will find out very soon.

gush… no words…
is there no magic Aray can hope for?… for all of her problems?… m? anyone?
There is always hope. 🙂
Pulling a ‘travel’-bed stunt like that is always a dick move
Kings get to do stuff like that. It’s sort of pre-loaded in their life scripts.
Wait, if papa dickmove implying that women who take up the sword become infertile or ‘less of a woman’? o_O
Really not liking him!

Oh, okay, thank you for explaining (still not liking King Douche)
Yea – I guess a deathbed request like that is pretty douchy.
That still doesn’t answer one question: Did her father know that she’s gay? If he did then it’s even worse.
Actually considered that, and he probably did know, but considering his other daughter made ‘alterations’, even a gay daughter can still have children
!Thumbs up for the latest voting incentive!… 🙂
That cums next, after the unwrapping 😉
Lol. Took me a minute to figure out this one. 🙂
Tend to be a bit too subtle with innuendo
I want to read whatever it is they were reading before the unwrapping began! Must have been some good erotica! 😀
LOL!
Possibly… “Fingersmith”? >_>
Thank you!
