At this rate she will have Aray up and going before the hour is up and be busy with other activities well before dawn. Doesn’t she remember the charge she gave Aray’s familiar a few pages back? BTW what ever happened to that Magick storing staff anyway?
Well, maybe a little. But with the smile, she doesn’t seem to be entirely displeased with Maeye taking a firmer hand with her. Maybe she’s been pushing to find out where the limits are?
“I have the P O W E R…!” π This should be interesting.
BTW: I noticed that, earlier, Maeye was applying pressure to Aray’s wound from the top. Did Maeye not notice that the wound was a through and through? Would applying pressure just from the top actually help reduce the bleeding in that case? Anyway, it’s through the abdomen, so I would assume there would be internal bleeding.
For that matter, what happened to the arrow? Did Aray pull it out?
Yea…Maeye does not have any particularly strong first aid skills. She was probably doing more harm than good. But the only two things she knows in the first aid realm are “put pressure on it” and ” somebody boil some water”. π
What I find curious is how Endora knows about Neurons at all. Granted, she’s some sort of entity or spirit, presumably from a realm other than Prentil. But the concept of Neurons seems quite modern to find in any sort of medieval, fantasy, or magic world (of the traditional sort). Has Endora traveled to Earth or some other high-tech world?
Endora knows a great deal about the human body. I originally had intended her to say something like “do you feel the tiny particles traveling between the gaps between your nerves…” but that just got too wordy. Unfortunately with a comic you sometimes have to sacrifice logic for space. π
The last panel just makes me expect Maeye would start laughing manically and declare herself the next evil overlord. After all magic is supposed to be evil…
I wish I had time to render up gags like this! That would be hillarious. End with Endora and Aray looking at each other saying “Didn’t see that coming.”
Hmm, I always dislike “deus ex machina” plot devices. It looks as though Mae has suddenly developed some sort of high powered healing ability. which just seems to … require her to … rip off … most of her clothes …
Umm, ok, I withdraw all objections. Seems perfectly OK to me.
FWIW, this one’s been building for a long, long timeβ¦ I think this same ability is what she used on Aray way back when: http://prentil.com/?comic=bk1-ch1-pg15
But yeah, a girl can make exceptions for side effects like that π

As far as Maeye knows, she was just a conduit for power when she kissed Fiet. The staff is still around. Just not essential to this page.
Great page, but is it just me, or does Sha’ look a little ‘evil’ in panel four? o_O

Bingo! π
I was going for more mischievous than evil.
Mischievious, evil, either way, she’s planning something
Yup, I’m convinced that by ordering her away, Maeye has set herself up for another obligation that Sha’ag will enjoy perhaps too much
π
She is always up to something. π
incredible page!
Thank you very much!
Nice page. They usually are. But this something.

Yes, Aray removed the arrow before making her way back to camp

This revelation has been some time coming.
And there will be more now that Maeye has a tutor.

Forgot to mention: you did a great job of portraying Maeye’s fear in panels nine through to twelve
Thank you!
