I had a lot of trouble with this page. Rendering with IRay in low lighting is very difficult. I struggled with the resulting resolution – very grainy in some areas. I think I know how to correct this going forward, but there just wasn’t enough time to redo this whole page. :/
I don’t see any grainy area in the picture, or I looked over it without knowing. All I see is a beautiful picture of 3 persons with each different opinion about what to do.
I have no experience with IRay but if it is very difficult to let it render in low lighting, maybe it would help if you draw a few more torches ?
Suggestion: make the few existing light sources a lot brighter, so rendering works normal
then reduce the overall brightness of the resulting rendered 2d scene again, playing with color and saturation, until it again looks all dark.
Hmm, either there is nothing in that room except what they most hate right at that moment, or that really is a hive of angry giant killer wasp-things and whatever really is causing the problems is using the hive as a distraction slash security (they appear to have eated at least one mammoth, with at least three other piles of bones)
If the source is using the bees as a decoy then it is more dangerous than I thought. Or maybe they just live next to each other like neighbours. Who knows ?
Heya friends. Our next page is under way. Render times in this cave (now pushing 2.5 hours per image) are killing me. Can’t wait to finish up here and move on to another set.
On a happier note, I did finally break down and order a new computer. I expect the new system in mid-October and I have high high high hopes that things will be more smooth once I get it. Fingers crossed!
Ok. Renders are all done, just post work, page construction and dialogue to wrap up. Page will be done tomorrow night. 🙂 I’ve also got some nice incentives to put up this weekend!
Tried to figure out what all those up arrows were supposed to be. Realized that they were just a bunch of capital ‘M’s and I was looking at them wrong, then I felt dumb lol.

Yeah, can’t see any ‘grainy’ either
Maybe, not sure how much it will help (or hinder), create it with light and then turn down the brightness

Yea. Experimenting with that now.
It’s how the olde timey movie makers did night scenes (and did better job of it than DC)

Both interesting theories! We will find out how the bees fit in very soon.

Looking forward to both 😀

LOL! They do look like arrows!
This page needs a warning for spheksophobics.
