Bk1: Ch9: Pg4
1a.
Nihklas: Hiya.
Sansraen: Hi.
Nihklas: I um...well...I...
Nihklas: These last couple of months...
Nihklas: Um...
1b.
Nihklas: I am really glad you stayed.
Sansraen: I am too.
Sansraen: I've met all these wonderful people seen such fantastic things in the last few weeks. You're life is amazing, Nihklas.
Nihklas: I mean, I...
2b.
Nihklas: Come on!
3a.
Arayanna: Maeye, you are a healer. You need to...
Maeye: I can heal people, sure, but I don't know the first thing about that!!
3b.
Arayanna: Um...I beg to differ.
Maeye: Not that!! I know about that!
Maeye: I mean giving birth. I've never helped a woman give birth.
4a.
Sha'ag: You two! Either help or shut up and get out!!
Sansraen: I can help.
Fiet: Are you sure?
Sansraen: Yes, I've done this before. Well...with a human...
Sansraen: I guess it's the same.
4b.
Fiet: Excellent. You two. Out!
Fiet: Maeye, we will call you if she needs healing.
4c.
Maeye: Thank the gods! I really did not want to see her squeeze a gooey monster out of her pretty parts.
5b.
Kraghen: Cat?
6a.
Kraghen: Cat!!
6b.
Kraghen: Cat, what happened? Who did this to you?
Cat: It was the beast. He must have followed us. He killed everyone.
7a.
Kraghen: Endora, quickly! Heal her!
Cat: And he...he...took Nikah...
7b.
Endora: I am sorry, Kraghen. She is too far gone. She is beyond my capabilities.
Endora: All you can do now is comfort her.
8a.
Kraghen: No. There is one other thing I can do.
8b.
Kraghen: I can avenge her.
Cat was awesome, I hate to see her go. I hate the way this sounds, but it now leaves the door open for Krag and Shalla to get together…..
BTW, just found your comic a couple weeks ago and have just caught up today. Awesome story, and I can’t wait to see where the story goes.
Welcome to the community! Thank you for taking the time to comment and I am very glad you like the story.
It was funny, I found myself choking up a bit when I was putting together the scenes with Krag and Cat. This is the first character we’ve lost that anybody really cared about. I don’t want to go all G.R.R. Martin on this, but a story does need some tragedy.
And yes, this does make things easier for Krag and Shalla. I think he intended to spend a couple of days with Cat and then tell her he wouldn’t be back. But I never really know what these characters are going to do until I start writing. 🙂
In the second panel there are 2 typos. It should be “… in the last few weeks, your life is amazing, nihklas”.
Damn! I’d gone a few pages without typos, too. I keep saying I need to clean these up as I go along, but…then I don’t. LOL. Thank you!
ahhaha… Maeye can heal, sure she can also help with childbirth… on the other hand, maybe she could ease the pain? or her powers don’t work that way…
and Kragh back to roots with avenging someone’s death… we all gonna witness some badassery in near future… 😀
also have to admit that new Maeye actress looks better than previous, good job Feori!.. 🙂
I am sure Maeye could have been of some help during the whole process, but it’s Maeye…she has her own motivations and standards. She’s probably as scared of childbirth as I would be. And I just liked the way the scene played out…Maeye and Aray having their own self-centered argument while Sha’ag is in the background in labor. Thought it was pretty funny. Sha’ag’s expression in panel six just kills me. 🙂
Time for Kraggie to show that Beast what a real beast can do, when motivated enough!
Oh yea!!
So, Maeye was deliberately trying to get thrown out? o_O
Also, was she being literal or figurative about Shag ‘squeezing out a gooey monster’?
Well do you blame her? Childbirth is definitely not something I want to witness. 🙂
She was being figurative. 🙂
Although… when you’re making babies with gods, you never know for certain what might pop out…
Good point!!
Why even in my fantasy life do I still get stuck doing laundry??!!!
Love Maeye’s way of getting out of the birthing. Guess that is not the healing she is interested in doing.
LOL!!
But look how happy you are doing that laundry!
In panel 9, Maeye looks a lot like a young Jennifer Garner.
Interesting coincidence! Peppermint is on Netflix. Worth the watch. 🙂
